LISI 2014FINANCIALREPORT
Regarding theplastic, theproductionsites thatuse this resource recover
and sort their plastic waste (core samples, scrap). Such waste is then
crushed and reintroduced into the production lines, to themaximum
extentrequiredbyourcustomers
2.3.3Energyconsumption,measurestoimproveenergyefficiency
anduseofrenewableenergy
Energy consumption is alsodown. Tighter control of our consumption
andawarenessofourproductionteamsplayakeyrole inthisdecrease in
our impact on the consumptionof energy resources. Sites arepursuing
theirwastecuttingactivities.
A non-negligible part of the energy is dedicated to heating; weather
variations mean that energy consumption under this heading is also
variable.
Themajorityoftheenergy isusedforproduction.It isthereforenecessary
to distinguish those processes for which the consumption is directly
related to production and those processes - such as Heat Treatment -
whichhavea fixedpartof energyconsumptionwhich is independentof
production(raisingoftemperature,etc.).Sothatadip inproductiondoes
not translate directly into an immediate drop in energy consumption.
Thisexplainsthedifferencesbetweenthedivisions.
Thanks toabetter rationalizationof theprocesses, LISI canannouncea
stabilizationof itsconsumption,or0.762MWhfor€1,000ofaddedvalue.
