Since the mid-2000s, LISI AEROSPACE Creuzet developed and
perfected a specific technology forming the engine air inlet lips.
The first productions of this type were conducted for Airbus,
within the framework of the A340 program. LISI
AEROSPACE Creuzet then positioned itself as
amajor supplier on the A380 program. The
solutionof theseparts in light alloy, repre-
sents a global alternative to the classical
techniques of stamping or flow-turning
(irreversible deformation of metals).
The process used enables to obtain,
by forming, a line close to the final
geometriccharacteristics.Deployedon
severalvalidationprogramsconducted
withclientsofLISIAEROSPACECreuzet,
the repetitiveness of the process could
bedemonstratedbothon thegeometric
andmetallurgic level.
Amajortechnological
challenge
At the end of the year 2012, LISI AEROSPACE
Creuzet has signed a new contract withAIRBUS for
thedeliveryofair inlet lips for the futureA320NEO.Whereas the
partdesigned forA340andA389 consistedof several sectors, this
new lip,withadiameter close to2meters, is amono-bloc. These
constraints have been amajor technological challenge in terms
ofproduction.The first four sets couldbedelivered in2013.Team
effortsnowfocusontheindustrializationoftheprocess,inorderto
meettherequirementsofspeed,costandqualityofthisprogram.

Helicopters: aFail Safebeam
for loadcarriage
Within the framework of its helicopter equipment
production activity, the Indraero Siren site, has developed
and certified to the European authorities a new piece of
equipment allowing the carriage of external loads for the
BELL429 helicopter. This “FailSafe” certified equipment
is designed to withstand loads (human and non-human)
which can reach 600 kilos. This systemhas beenqualified
to
meet
regulatory
requirements
(structural
and
environmental) such as in the case of ultimate loading,
fatigue, holding the lightning tests or susceptibility to
electromagnetic fields. The Swiss Air Zairmatt will be the
first operator to take advantage of this equipment which
it will use for its activities of air transport of equipment,
rescueandtransportationof injuredpersons.
