The tax charge, calculated on the basis of the corporation tax as a

percentage of the net income before taxes, reflects an effective

average rate of tax of 26.8%, slightly down compared with 2016

(33.7%). The current effective rate would be 31.1% if the one-time

items for the year were adjusted (impact at the start of the year

of the rate change in France and the United States for €-9 million,

the additional tax contribution of 15% in France for €+1.1 million,

claiming of the 3% contribution on dividends for €-2.1 million and the

transitional tax on the undistributed reserves of foreign subsidiaries

of US companies for €3.8 million).
