The FTB plant at Izmir, in Turkey, completed
its new expansion phase. The third extension,
operational since April 2014, nowmeans the site
canoffer sufficient availableproduction capacity
tomeetthe increaseddemandduetorecentgains
inmarket share. Thissite, acquired in2001byLISI
AEROSPACE,had70existingemployeesandwasa
single-client supplier. RenamedFTB, for Fastener
TechnologyBestas, today the company employs
513peopleon8,500m².
AssociatedwiththeLEAPengineprogram
Themissionofmaking thisanautonomoussite,
expanded three times, has seen, since 2012,
thedevelopmentof dedicatedproduction lines
(studs and gudgeon pins), initially produced
at Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône, and the production
of small diameter 12-tooth engine screws,
transferred from Villefranche-de-Rouergue.
Production support services were formalized
and today direct deliveries to clients (Safran,
Pattonair, Airbus Helicopter and Airbus)
account formore thanhalfof thesite’sbusiness.
This share continues to grow significantly
each year. FTB, which has obtained numerous
qualifications since 2013, has implemented the
LEAP (LISI Excellence Achievement Program)
continuous improvement program. The Izmir
site is currently in the benchmark phase for
organization, cleanlinessand tidiness.
