LISI — 2020 INTEGRATED REPORT 11  Structural Components The structural components business includes the manufacturing and finishing of critical high added value metal parts. They can be forged, hot or cold formed or produced via additive 3D printing processes. At the forefront of process innovation, the division is a European leader in the manufacture of engine blades and a leading global player for medium-sized structural components. Formed primary components Compressor blades for the LEAP engine LEAP engine composite fan blade leading edge Air intake lipskin for the A320NEO Airbus Primary forged components Strut for the LEAP engine Power transmission semi-machined gear Low pressure variable stator vane Additivemanufacturing Satellite antenna bracket 30% of the division’s sales MAJOR DEVELOPMENT ORIENTATIONS Critical and Safety Parts LISI AEROSPACE is stepping up its R&D efforts in the development of critical and safety parts, such as fasteners fitted with a device allowing the monitoring of key characteristics of the assembly throughout the life of the device, or even new forging methods for critical parts (landing gear). The division is also expanding its range of qualification for new fastener or component products. Low-carbon aircraft, weight reduction and aerodynamics LISI AEROSPACE is particularly active in programs aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of the aeronautics sector. The division develops eco-friendly manufacturing processes, designs fasteners and components that help make aircraft lighter and reduce CO 2 emissions.
